Briefing

You have successfully established your position as acting Dictator of the Inter-Galactic Free Nations... which is odd, because the IGFN has been a long-standing force for peace in the universe, and you've openly admitted your plans to enslave most of it. Some have suggested that it has something to do with your aggressive use of mind control in all political meetings and debates, but most simply assert that 'THE ALMIGHTY DICTATOR KNOWS ALL'.

Either way, there are more pressing matters at hand. Turns out that most of the universe actually objects at the prospect of slavery. It's war.

The ships you'll control

You are able to pilot two different kinds of ship. The first is an agile fighter with a repeating laser. It can be seen below:

The second is the Destroyer. It's a bit less manouvreable than the fighter, but hell, it has a rapid-fire laser cannon and homing rockets. Can't argue with that.

Flying around & whatnot

The controls for flying a ship are shown below:

W - Accelerate

A - Turn Left

D - Turn Right

S - Decelerate

Space - Afterburner

The afterburner is limited by the yellow energy bar next to the radar, and recharges as you fly. If you shoot or get shot, it'll drop straight down to zero. You cant turn while using it either... On the plus side though, you get to go really fast.

Raining painful fiery death upon the idealistic fools who dare to oppose you

(shooting stuff)

Hold down the left mouse button to fire

Move the cursor to aim

You can aim in a small triangle in front of your ship, as is shown below:

If you should click outside of the triangle shown, the bullet will fire towards the nearest edge

Clicking in the red section will fire the repeating laser, clicking in the orange section will fire a homing rocket (if there are any enemies nearby)

The Radar

This is the most important part of the HUD. It's pretty self-explanitory once you see it in action, but there's one point worth noting: The larger the dot, the larger the ship... there are some pretty big dots =|

Here's the yellow energy bar mentioned earlier on

How to avoid painful fiery death

(General playing tips)

- Always approach enemy fighters from behind

- When you're trying to shake someone, slowing down at just the right moment will generally put you behind them without taking a hit

- If you're outnumbered, just try to dodge their shots for a few seconds while your afterburner recharges

- It's normally best to  steer clear of bigger ships unless you have some support

- If you're tailing a destroyer, hitting it wont be difficult, so concentrate on dodging the rockets it's spitting out at you

If you should fail to avoid painful fiery death...

It's not necessarily the end of your evil psychotic war campaign; you can just possess the body of some poor hapless ally.

Just click the screen to cycle through your allies, and press Space to possess one of them.

Unfortunately, if all of your allies are killed (along with you), it IS the end of your evil psychotic war campaign.

Go figure =/

Other ships

There are two other kinds of ship that you will encounter. One of these ships is very large. The other is VERY large.

This is a shrunken version of the first of the ships mentioned, a Testudon. It will quite happily tear you and your cute little toy ship right in half should you stray too close... so yeah, dont.

You'll just have to wait and see the second ship for yourself... if you get that far.

Scoring Points

You will get points for ships that your allies destroy, but you earn far more for doing it yourself.

Each ship has a base point value, which is then multiplied by the number of stages you've completed and the number of consecutive kills you've had since you last died.

For example, if you've completed 6 stages and destroyed 7 ships since you last died on that stage, killing a fighter will give you 4200 points (100x6x7). An allied ship making the same kill would just give you 100 points.

Radio Channel

Next to your radar you will see a box displaying messages from your allies. These messages will include exclaimations from pilots who have been hit or have destroyed several enemy ships, notifications when significant ships are destroyed, or instructions for coordinated attacks during battles against the 4th ship mentioned earlier...

And that's about it.

Fly well Sir, the future of the slave trade depends on it.

Mothership Battle

Right, so basically you've got to kill that reeaally big thing in the middle of the map. Unfortunately, the reeaally big thing also has a small defensive force and a tonne of big angry turrets. You'll have to take out most of its turrets to bring it down. Your forces will perform coordinated attacks on these turrets, so keep an eye on the radio channel and the radar, as they'll let you know which turret is being targetted.Dont stray near to the central turret unless you're flying with a lot of allies; it will destroy pretty much anything in a single hit.
